Jubilee Day at St Joseph's

St Joseph's celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a week of activities in school learning about the history of our country as well as learning the National Anthem. On Friday 27th May all children and staff dressed in red, white and blue and we invited the Deputy Mayor of Christchurch Cllr Vivienne Charrett along with our Governors, parish priest Father John Chadwick and Deacon Hugh Parry to join us in our celebrations. Children from Year 6 and Ducklings helped Mrs Rippon plant our Jubilee tree and a time capsule with items to remind future generations of this special year. Deacon Hugh led a blessing to mark this special event before the cutting of a stunning Jubilee cake baked by the talented Mrs Dunn. Mr Curran presented children from each class with a commemorative bookmark and parents were welcomed to school to enjoy a slice of cake to mark the event!
