Welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Christchurch, Dorset. We are very proud of our wonderful school, where children and Christ are at the heart of all we do. Our pupils and staff live out our mission statement, ‘We are all God’s children, and will try to live, love, work and serve as Jesus taught us.’
We strive for all members of our children and all members of our school community to live with courage, love with compassion, work with curiosity and to serve our community.
St Joseph’s is an inclusive school where we share the principles that:
Everyone has the right to learn.
Everyone has the right to be respected.
Everyone has the right to feel safe.
St Joseph’s is a high achieving school where all aspects of learning are promoted and where we understand that each child is unique. Pope Francis says, ‘The mission of schools is to develop a sense of truth, of what is good and beautiful. And this occurs through a rich path made up of many ingredients.’ At St Joseph’s, we aim to make learning enriching and meaningful, equipping our pupils for the next stage in their education, so that they are positive and active members of society.
1 Timothy 4:12 “Don't let anyone look down on your because you are young. Instead, set an example for the believers through your speech, behaviour, love, faith and purity."
At St Joseph’s, we strive to work with parents effectively to promote the welfare and education of all our pupils. The school’s recent Ofsted inspection (September 2018), stated that ‘parents are quick to endorse the school. They are effusive in their praise, particularly in how staff establish effective communication and interact positively to ensure that pupils enjoy and achieve well in school.’ This is testament not only to the pupils and parents but to our excellent team of staff.
We hope that you find the website useful. For initial enquiries about the school, please contact our school office who will be very pleased to help. We warmly welcome visits to our school and I look forward to meeting you.
