What is Graduated Response?
Graduated Response refers to schools using a stepped approach to support children.
This involves a four-part cycle:
Assess Teachers assess a child’s needs to find out what the problem might be
Plan From this assessment teachers decide how to support the child in this area
Do Teachers carry out this plan with the child
Review Teachers review this intervention – how well did the child respond?
Is this intervention enough to support the child or does the child need something else?
