Year 3
September 2021
The children have made a fantastic start to life in year 3 and have impressed us so much with their independence and enthusiasm, getting used to new KS2 routines and new experiences such as swimming.
Here are some photos showing a selection of fun learning that we have been doing, such as drama and also Golden Time which we have been enjoying outdoors with the wonderful weather.

October 2021
In God Matters we have been learning about baptism. We have compared Jesus's baptism with our baptism and held our own service in class. We have also learned about the very important role of godparents.
Science and drama
The children have been really busy these last few weeks and have settled fantastically into year 3. We have been busy exploring magnetism in science and acting out the story 'Tuesday' in drama ready for our newspaper report writing this week.
World Book Day
We had a fabulous day celebrating World Book Day. We looked great in our outfits and the grown ups dressed up as a character from Mr Men or Little Miss books. We shared a reading time with Ducklings and we created a chapter for the whole school story.
We created our own story boards based on the picture book 'Journey' and we read out clues for the rest of the class to guess our favourite book.
March 2022
We made our paper mache volcanoes over several weeks. The process involved making the paper mache shape, then painting our volcanoes and finally erupting them. Every volcano was different and we learnt skills of mixing paints and substances and mainly resilience to see a process through to the end.
CAFOD Day
We had a visit from Steve and he did a really thought provoking workshop with us. We had to imagine we were refugees with our family and we could only take a few things with us in our backpacks. We had really good discussions about what is important to us.
First Aid Training
We really enjoyed the First Aid Training and had fun at the same time as learning important life-saving methods. We were very proud to earn our certificate at the end.
